Autumn is the first Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) to become part of the Wellstone and SMCHH team. She holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from The University of Tennessee. She also holds a master's degree in nursing with a specialty in nurse-midwifery and a doctorate of nursing practice with Frontier Nursing University. She is board-certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and is also a professional member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives. Autumn has experience working with adult and obstetric critical care populations, as well as in antepartum, Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.

A wife and mom of four herself, Autumn personally knows the challenges and joys of pregnancy and motherhood. She has a passion for improving maternal and neonatal health and strongly believes in the power of midwifery and shared-decision making to improve outcomes and empower women and families. Autumn is committed to serving the women of this community and is proud to grow midwifery with Wellstone and SMCHH for the community.

CNMs are licensed as Advanced Practice Registered Nurses with a special population focus in women and newborns. They are experts in physiologic pregnancy and birth. CNMs care for women and adolescents throughout the lifespan including well-woman, contraceptive services, GYN, prenatal, intrapartum, birth, postpartum, and newborn care. While midwives primarily care for healthy women and their newborns, they may also care for women and babies in consultation with a physician should complications arise, with anesthesia services for epidurals and pharmacologic pain management during labor, and may even continue care assisting the surgeon if a c-section is necessary.

Autumn welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.

She was extremely informative, helpful, and really understood my concerns. Ive always had my appointments at Baylor Scott and white because of the convenience of it being local, but decided to go elsewhere due to the lack of care and help there. I decided to make a switch to Wellstone and so glad I did. Autumn is by far the best obgyn I’ve seen and I will continue to make the longer drive just so I can continue to have great care by her!

I don’t think I could express my gratitude for autumn in 1000 words. I first saw her when i was 30 weeks pregnant and i was reluctant to meet her just because i was so far into my pregnancy and i was scared she would not “approve” of my wishes for childbirth. During my first appointment she asked me what I wanted out of my labor and delivery and I expressed my wishes. She looked at me and said “okay, let’s do it”. Every single appointment i had leading up to delivery she didn’t rush me out of the room. She listened to all of my questions and answered every single one. She was extremely helpful and supportive during my labor. She would help my husband in applying counter pressure and telling me different positions to get into to help with the pain of my contractions. She supported me the entire 15 hours of my labor and not once offered something to me that she knew was outside of my wishes for my delivery. I have recommended several friends to her because I believe she is the best!

I ended up seeing Autumn towards the very end of my visit and as a first time mom, I had a lot of questions that I felt were silly, but she reassured me and answered them in a way that I understood. I felt comfortable with her and ended up feeling really happy leaving my appointment. I wish I had seen her much sooner in my pregnancy as I'm already 36 weeks pregnant. Fantastic OB.

My OB/Midwife is Ms. Autumn, she is amazing! I actually had recently recommend a friend to see her. She always answers all of my questions and even reassures me on all of them! This is my second child and I have never experienced a strong like for an OB/Midwife until I met her. She will always be 5 stars in my book.
