Common symptoms of a breast/gynecological condition
Being informed on potential symptoms of a gynecological, breast or hormonal condition is one of the best ways to stay ahead of your health. The following conditions have various symptoms to look out for:
- Breast cancer – Breast swelling, skin dimpling, hard lump, breast or nipple pain, nipple retraction, discharge from nipples other than breast milk, swollen lymph nodes under arms/near collar bone, nipple or breast skin issues such as redness, flaking, dryness
- Breast cyst – Fluid-filled, round or oval sacs in the breast which often feel like a movable lump, sometimes tender to the touch
- Breast fat necrosis – Painless, round and firm lumps in the breast
- Breast mastitis – Breast pain, hard lump in breast, red marks on breast, and flu-like symptoms
- Cervical cancer – Symptoms typically don’t occur until the cancer begins growing larger/growing into nearby tissue, and can include abnormal vaginal bleeding, including bleeding after vaginal sex, after menopause, after douching, spotting between periods and having periods lasting longer or that are heavier than usual; unusual vaginal discharge; pain during sex; pain in the pelvic area
